Jane’s Walk 2026

Trees at Lemoine Point Farm

Date: Sunday, May 3, 2026
Time: 12:00 pm

On the Walk: Join us for a guided walk through the landscape now known as Lemoine Point, where layers of history continue to shape the land and its stories. From the Wendat, Haudenosaunee, and Mississauga Nations to early European settlement, this coastal region has long been a place of connection, sustenance, and transformation.

While areas such as Collin’s Bay and Lemoine Point Conservation Area are often associated with later settler histories, Collin’s Survey, Herkimer’s Nose, Lemoine’s Limestone, and Coverdale’s Farm, this walk invites participants to look deeper. For millennia, Indigenous communities sustained vibrant fishing, hunting, and agrarian lifeways in this region.

Led by archaeologist and LodgePole Arts Executive Director, Dr. Terri-Lynn Brennan, this experience offers an opportunity to explore the cultural evolution of the land while reflecting on its ongoing significance. Participants will also learn about LodgePole Arts Alliance’s vision for revitalizing land-based initiatives that foster interconnected relationships with the land for the next seven generations.
