Lodgepole Arts Alliance proposes Indigenous creative centre at Lemoine Point Farm
The Lodgepole Arts Alliance, a non-profit governed by a nationwide Indigenous council with roots on Wolfe Island, is advancing a visionary plan for the Lemoine Point Farm property.
The organization’s goal is to establish an Indigenous creative cultural centre at Kingston’s Lemoine Point Farm, a site sparking community interest since the property entered a lasting era of uncertainty after the passing of the previous owner over two years ago.
This idea was well supported at a community meeting last winter hosted by the Save Lemoine Point Farm group, and since then further steps have been made to turn this idea into a reality. Recent developments include presentations to Kingston’s Arts and Culture Advisory Committee and recent discussions with city officials.
