LodgePole Arts Alliance is pleased to support Kingston WritersFest in presenting The Inbetween Leader: Cultivating Courage and Unity in a Complex World, featuring former Minister of Justice Jody Wilson-Raybould and Roshan Danesh with Harmony Johnson-Harder, LodgePole Arts Alliance’s Feather Carrier, hosting the evening.
In a time when division and polarization can feel increasingly common, The Inbetween Leader asks us to consider a different way of thinking about leadership, one rooted in relationships, collaboration, courage, and connection.
Rethinking Leadership
Our communities and institutions are navigating increasingly complex social and political challenges. At the same time, traditional approaches to leadership can struggle to make room for different perspectives and experiences.
In The Inbetween Leader, Jody Wilson-Raybould and Roshan Danesh explore an alternative approach: leadership that can bring people together without asking them to give up what makes them different.
Drawing on Indigenous governance traditions and ancestral wisdom, they look at how leadership can be more relational, community-driven, and responsive to the world around us.
Their conversation will explore what it means to lead with courage, build meaningful relationships, work across differences, and create space for diverse perspectives.

The Inbetween Leader offers an opportunity to consider how we might move beyond models built around hierarchy and division and instead create stronger connections between people, communities, and institutions.
